Description
This painting is part of the series “Wild Animals at the Kaiserstuhl”
I painted the motif of the praying mantis in great detail on a pouring background, which I poured beforehand. The naturalistically painted praying mantis in green fits into the dynamic background. Acrylic pouring is a fascinating painting and pouring technique based on acrylic paint, which is brought to a liquid, pourable consistency by adding pouring medium and other additives (silicone oil) as needed. The formation of small and large cells results in a very special colour structure of the painting. The painting belongs to my series: Insects at the Kaiserstuhl. “The insect is a winner of climate change: the praying mantis is spreading further and further” (NABU).
