Frida Kahlo, the famous artist from Mexico, she is by far the most famous painter in Mexico, if not in Latin America. She painted many dozens of self-portraits of herself. The bright colours on her clothes and the flowers she wore in her hair are striking. Frida had a serious traffic accident at a young age and died in her mid-40’s. This colourful painting shows her expressively.
I made the background first, using my secret technique. Then I painted the motif over it in detail and integrated it into the background. A very lively picture, although the main figure Frida is standing calmly. The colouring does justice to the artist Frida, as she herself painted her pictures in many colours. A unique portrait, which is meant to underline Frida’s soul.
The picture has painted edges as well as a slightly shiny finishing varnish.
