thinking about COMMEDIA — I inferno

Description

On the occasion of the 700th date of death of Dante Alighieri, I painted six items concerning >Commedia<, later named >Divine Comedy<.

This first part deals with >inferno< (the hell), which describes unimaginable dramas of human being. The colors: A very dark magenta mixed with carmine — framing the ruby red square — is step by step brightened by vernilion red and then by brilliant orange, interrupted by vanadium green.
