The painting Outre-mer (2016), uses the beautiful ultramarine (outre-mer) pigment that before its synthetic manufacturing used to be brought to Europe from beyond the ocean. The painting plays with this idea of far away places and the sea as connecting all of them, by depicting an imaginary map of the ocean and its continents, all immersed in a beautiful ultramarine pigment. 200×150, oil and tempera on canvas.
