GITA IN BARCA

Boat trip is a work made in the summer of 2022, spent on the enchanting coasts of Argentario, in Tuscany, a place of the sea that marked most of my adolescence, during the hot summers spent there.

That day, in particular, began with the rental of a small boat in Porto Santo Stefano. We decided to sail to the island of Giannutri, a natural park two hours away by sea, reachable only through two coves, with the restriction of not being able to fish.

It was an extraordinary day, immersed in unspoilt and fascinating landscapes. The sun had warmed and tired, but the beauty of the place completely kidnapped us. On the way back, as the boat approached the port of departure, I was struck by the sight of the cliff, which I decided to immortalize with a photograph, an indelible memory of that moment.

The work, made with the use of the spatula, is characterized by a strong light-dark contrast, where the bright colors emerge in all their intensity, reflecting the warm light and dynamism of the seascape. This chromatic contrast wants to evoke the visual power and vibrant atmosphere of that day, suspended between the serenity of the sea and the strength of the surrounding nature.
