Lacke is a Swedish autodidact artist in both painting and sculpture. He has been active since the 90s and has his studio in Åkersberga where he also lives.
In his paintings, we find large abstract and figurative works in a mix of warm earth colors, but Lacke is perhaps most characterized by his sculptures cut out in steel that is silhouetted against nature or as a foreground for his painting.
“I like to work in larger formats and often get interest requests where you seek decoration in public and in integration with nature. I have always liked to create things – to express myself with images, sounds, or form. It has stimulated and driven me to explore different techniques in art.”
Tomas has exhibited and sold works in several countries and his works are part of important private and public collections.
Tomas Lacke freely experiments with both techniques and materials. Pop art, classic oil paintings, installations, and sculptures. Often the works have clear religious undertones. The result is dark, present, and intense. Without visible brush strokes, it is as if the canvases have created themselves.
