The artist was born in Manitoba. Winters are cold and can be harsh. However, being born into this environment of dangers, difficulties and beauty seemed normal, if not always comfortable. Survivors everywhere survive only when their protectors assist in discouraging predators and provide shelters from a harsh environment. The painting “Ice Walkers” speaks to the presence of predators and protectors in our lives, always, as we walk, work and play where we live. It is as it should be.
