Radu Tesaro is a Czech painter whose work transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. She was born in Prague in 1979, spent her childhood in South Bohemia and was surrounded by art from an early age – first music, which she studied at an elementary art school. After graduating from high school, she set off on a journey and gradually lived in several countries, including Germany, New Zealand and Canada. It was in Toronto that she studied classical drawing and painting at the prestigious Michael John Angel Studios, which significantly influenced her artistic style.
The turning point in her career was 2004, when she moved to Zambia. She lived and created there for almost five years, completely immersing herself in the local culture, nature and way of life. Africa has become the focus of her work – she captures African motifs, landscapes, wild animals and portraits of people with extraordinary authenticity, colour and a strong emotional charge. Her paintings often transport the viewer directly to the savannahs, among herds of elephants or into the eyes of people who carry stories within them.
Tesaro uses exclusively oil on canvas and her characteristic technique of painting with a palette knife. This method allows her to create a strong texture and distinctive plasticity, which adds intensity and dynamism to the paintings. It is not just a painting – it is a tangible, living experience. The viewer feels that they are not only looking with their eyes, but also feeling and hearing the atmosphere that the paintings radiate.
After returning to the Czech Republic, she continued her artistic career and her works have also gained attention abroad. In 2024, she won first place in the prestigious Wildlife Artist of the Year competition in London for the painting “Wings”, which depicts the winged freedom and fragility of wild nature.
It is therefore appropriate to emphasize at exhibitions not only her technical skills and original style, but above all her life story, which is imprinted in her paintings. International experience, African inspiration and a deep feeling for the world of animals and people make Radu Tesaro a personality whose works appeal to audiences across continents. Her paintings are not only beautiful – they are strong, real and unforgettable.
Radu had around a hundred exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, the USA, Canada, the UK, Zambia and the UAE, in Dubai.
