Vendor Biography
Alicia, born in 1997 in South Africa.
A nature lover with a holistic lifestyle, my family affectionately refers to me as a “blomme kind” (flower child).
I have been artistic and creative from a young age, primarily as a self-taught artist. I studied visual art in school and has always been fascinated by the brain, human behavior, and the connection between body, mind, and soul. In 2013, I completed a life coaching and NLP course, where I learned about micro-expressions and body language. At that time, I was the youngest person in my country to receive certification. It was during this period that my passion for portraits truly blossomed; at just 17, I sold her first custom portrait, created with charcoal on paper.
I have led a vibrant and adventurous life. Immediately after high school, I left my home country to work and travel, always bringing my art along. While traveling with an au pair family, I sold her first piece abroad at a campsite in France. Beginning my journey as an artist’s assistant with Airvolution in South Africa, I received training in mural and body art, which took me to Seychelles and Mozambique, and led to events throughout Pretoria. In Cambodia, I taught art classes in my spare time, focusing not on technique, but on self-expression, fun, and community building. I also joined the Sra’art gallery, where I held my first exhibition.
I have a strong interest in learning about new cultures, lifestyles, and perspectives, and I integrate what resonates with me into my life and art. With a deep passion for exploring various art materials and styles, I particularly enjoy working with coffee and oil paint, and I dabble in photography and videography. While I am determined to preserve traditional art, I have also recently discovered the beauty of digital art. I strive to balance traditional methods with the changing landscape of the art world.
