Vendor Biography
I am a contemporary Swedish artist born in Västerås in 1972.
Among other things, I have studied at the University of Gävle, the Artist Lab Academy in Stockholm and Art College in Gothenburg.
Today I live and work in Västerås.
I paint in a concrete abstract visual tradition with influences from Hilma af Klint, Kandinsky, the Suprematists, Russian avant-garde, and Minimalists.
By organizing and coordinating colors, shapes, and pattern constructions (often geometric and symbolic), I aim through these elements and approaches to achieve decorative results while also creating tension that disrupts this.
My working process is both playful and methodical, as I explore compositions with oppositional relationships such as contrast, volume, space, distance, proportion, and atmosphere to give each painting its specific character.
In my newer paintings, the viewer is invited into something playful where the rules of reality give way to imagination. Through shapes, color contrasts, and rhythmic patterns, a feeling of dream worlds.
The style moves in the borderland between naivism and folk art with clear influences from modernism and retro aesthetics. There is no realism here, but rather an inner logic where color and form are central.
I primarily work in acrylic on canvas, with strong colors and clean surfaces, often without visible brushstrokes. This gives the paintings a graphic expression that enhances the sense of clarity.
The color choices are intuitive, sometimes harmonious, sometimes unexpected, but always deliberate.
My art does not aim to explain, but rather to open up for imagination, joy, and a moment of rest. In something that can be beautiful, strange, kind, and a little magical all at once.
