Hawthorne Fine Boxes is a small family workshop based in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland, creating luxury handmade wooden boxes for clients across the UK and around the world.
Founded in 2002 by Ian and Kate Hawthorne, the workshop grew from a practical love of woodworking, careful design, and well-made objects. That approach still guides the work today.
Each bespoke wooden box is made by hand by Ian using carefully chosen timbers and veneers, traditional methods, and close attention to detail and finish. Kate oversees lining, presentation, and communication with clients, supported by a small, trusted team.
The workshop specialises in jewellery boxes, presentation boxes, keepsake boxes and heirloom wooden cases made to hold objects of significance — pieces intended to be kept, used, and passed down rather than replaced.
Every box that leaves the workshop is made with the same care and standards they would expect for their own work — thoughtful, well made, and intended to last.
