Eros and Himeros
In Greek mythology, Eros is the Greek god of love and sex. His Roman counterpart was Cupid. In the earliest account, he is a primordial god, while in later accounts he is described as one of the children of Aphrodite and Ares and, with some of his siblings, here with his twin brother Himeros, who stands for returning love, was one of the Erotes, a group of winged love gods.
(Eros is the most popular, most mischevious and most powerful of the Erotes).
Gods sometimes fear Eros since his arrows could affect god or mortals. He was usually depicted as a handsome winged youth carrying his bow and arrows. In art, he was generally depicted being at the side of his mother, Aphrodite. His Roman name is Cupid.
In Ancient Greek religion and mythology, the Erotes are a collective of winged gods associated with love and sexual intercourse. They are part of Aphrodite’s retinue. Erotes is the plural of Eros, who as a singular deity has a more complex mythology. Other named Erotes are Anteros, Hedylogos, Hermaphroditus, Himeros, Hymenaios, and Pothos. Wikipedia
