Hany Houssien – Bridging Cultures Through Art and Design

Hany Houssien is a renowned Egyptian artist and interior designer with over four decades of experience in the creative world. Throughout his career, he has showcased his evocative artworks in numerous countries across Europe, as well as in his two hometowns—Cairo and Melbourne.

His journey as an interior designer reached its height in the late 1970s and early 1980s, paralleling the evolution of his artistic voice. What began as a nostalgic tribute to his homeland, expressed through scenes inspired by Melbourne, soon unfolded into a full-fledged artistic path that deeply enriched his creative practice.

Houssien’s work is defined by a fusion of techniques and innovative styles, allowing him to cultivate a unique artistic philosophy. Each piece he creates carries layered meanings, often rooted in personal memory and cultural heritage. While much of his artwork reflects his deep emotional ties to Egypt, he has also explored European classical art through detailed reproductions inspired by four major European masters.

At the heart of Hany Houssien’s practice lies a profound desire to capture beauty, memory, and meaning—bridging continents and cultures with every brushstroke.
