Unique print from 2 shaped steel plates. A result of several translucent layers of rolled-on ink made from pigment and copper-plate oil. The final image is a somewhat unpredictable result of subsequent layers of ink partially revealing / concealing previous layers. The title of the series ‘Anatomy Lessons’, refers to a painting by Rembrandt (The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Deijman), with a particular interest in the shape of the canvas. In these prints the anatomy is perhaps the architecture of the shapes; some thought about the architecture of ancient and megalithic structures has also been an influence.
paper size; 77 x 88 cm.
