Totem der Toten II

Description

The totems are a celebration of life. I made these pieces to celebrate death as life. Growing up in a reason based and Cartesian Western Europe, I realized that my environment had a really grievous approach to death. While in my travels I noticed how traditional and salvaging, death rituals were. So I wanted to make my own religious artifacts of praising the eternal sleep.

Most of the works are made from garbage that I either found in the streets or the flea market. You can have Tupperware lids but also feet of an old Bedframe. All totems do contain used tattoo needles of my practice.
