Friendship is an indispensable emotion for people. A good friendship is based on two independent personalities. It is an enduring and memorable friendship which values and respects each other, learns from each other’s benefits, supports each other and grows. In the foreground on the left-hand side we see a woman from China in the Tang Dynasty, the woman behind her on the right is from the Chinese Song Dynasty.

The Tang Dynasty developed economy, had full knowledge and traded culture and art communication with many different countries. The people were open-minded, and there were many excellent poets and artists. At that time, women were dressed in an open style, semi-naked and translucent clothing were very common. The art style in the Tang Dynasty was daring and featured beautiful colors full of active vitality.

The Song Dynasty was another era of cultural and artistic prosperity. The famous artist Emperor Song Huizong Zhao Ji lived in this era. He had a very unique style in calligraphy (slim gold body) and he was also an art collector. In the Song Dynasty, people respected literate people, and the general aesthetic consciousness of people was extremely high, which is almost hard to surpass today. The art of that time was very elegant and sophisticated, with a style and color approaching modern minimalism, but more refined and thought-provoking in terms of details.

These two women lived at different times, in the world after the ordeal of baptism; and like phoenix, like a rebirth from the fire – blooming with beauty, the spirit of eternal power. They meet as they travel through time, and as they appreciate each other’s beautiful spirit, they exchange gifts from their own time as mementos. Though they meet only in a moment, the touch of the two souls makes an everlasting memory.
