NAVEMA

Born in 1957 and passionate about color, I have been drawing and painting since childhood. After attending several workshops and working with various techniques (pastel and charcoal, Indian ink and Chinese painting, and painting on silk), I chose watercolor and acrylic a few years ago.

Watercolor delicately expresses the twists and turns of our thoughts, from soft landscapes to the most vivid colors. This nuanced and sensitive approach aligns with my personality. That is why I practice watercolor using mixed techniques on canvas or paper (watercolor, acrylic, collage, ink), moving towards semi-abstract or abstract styles.

This artistic journey, this “process,” stimulates my creativity, granting me joyful freedom in the play of colors and an opening to a dreamlike world. I mostly paint “intuitively,” meaning I apply colors according to my mood, add collages, water, and let it dry.

I mainly work on wet paper and progress according to the drying times. Then, I observed my painting from all angles to identify what my subconscious intended to reveal. This allows me to paint and write about themes that are close to my heart: the protection of children and the vulnerable, nature, and the abuse of power. I work on what appears (to me) until the work is complete.

My painting is free, fluid, effortless… and directly from my soul. It reflects my subconscious. Through painting and writing, I express the themes that are dear to me.

I published my first book in 2022, “The Power of the Soul, Being Oneself in Transparency.” I have just published a second book in 2023, “Creative at Heart, the Intuitive Breath.” A few words accompany the presentation of my works, but each person is free to interpret them in their way.

Painting expresses, expiates, and exhales my pain. It’s been a long quest to find myself and become who I am.
To reach the stars, one must learn to fly.
