The work can probably be classified as magical realism, with historical accents. From a painting point of view, I am interested in, among others, compositions created using a combination of ordinary paints with metallic silver or gold. Gold usually ‘doesn’t fit’ – compositionally and technologically. It has been used since Byzantium, but practically not in landscape compositions, and if it does, it is very symbolic. It is difficult to compose something spatially coherent using it. This is kind of a challenge. In the present work gold was used to describe a certain ‘absolute space’, similarly to medieval painting, and space and time represented in the three segments of the byzantine triforium refer to start and come back from  a ‘long journey’.
