der widerspruch (HEGEL) — contradiction
Provided by Siegfried Bausch
100 x 100 x 4,5 cm (unframed); Acrylic on canvas; 2020
Beginning at the left side and reading the yellow color to the right one — from intensive to light –, the prime color is disrupted by a dark blue from light to intensive. It’s reversing the main direction of reading.
According to Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel [German philosopher, 1770 to 1831], positives are unthinkable without negatives, so the antithesis belongs to the thesis; a synthesis may possibly be found.
