Jan Bergström is born in 1955 in Söderhamn, and started painting from a young age, he studied art, and architecture at Umeå university.

Jan´s works are part of private and important public collections.

He is interested in American history and he translates this in several of his collage works through different motives and connects it with his Swedish roots.

Life series was inspired from his childhood, growing up reading it. so he wanted to remember and glorify its importance to his generation through repainting his favorite editions on big canvas paintings
