Dana Petcov: The Energy of Color in Motion

Dana Petcov is an independent abstract artist, art teacher, and art restorer based in Timisoara, Romania. With a career that spans decades and an artistic voice shaped by both education and experience, she has become known for her energetic, spontaneous, and colorful style.

Born in 1961, Petcov studied at the West University of Timisoara, Faculty of Arts and Design, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. Since 2007, she has been a member of the Fine Arts Union of Romania (Uniunea Artistilor Plastici din Romania), an affiliation that reflects both her professional standing and her contribution to the Romanian and European art scenes.

Petcov’s works have been exhibited widely in Romania and across Europe. Her paintings have been shown in cultural hubs such as Frankfurt, Milan, Belgrade, Budapest, Bucharest, Szeged, Bekescsaba, Prague, Kikinda, and Pula. Beyond exhibitions, her art has also found homes in private collections throughout America, Germany, England, Belgium, Italy, Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, and Montenegro.

Her international presence underscores the universal appeal of her abstract language. Each work invites viewers from different backgrounds and cultures to connect with color, movement, and emotion without the need for words.

Petcov describes her artistic approach as spontaneous, gestural, energetic, optimistic, and very colorful. She employs a wide range of techniques, combining vibrant hues and layered textures to express raw emotion and inner rhythm.

Her role as an art teacher and restorer further demonstrates her commitment to both preserving artistic heritage and fostering new generations of artists.
