Bård Ek

Bård Ek (b.1964) has a BA (hons) in photography from Surrey College of Art and Design in UK. He lives and works in Oslo, he also teaches photography at Bilder Nordic school of Photography. Bård has made four photo books with his own work and has been widely exhibited.

At the moment Bård Ek is mainly concentrated on photography in nature.

By using artificial light, Bård wishes to highlight our distanced relationship to

nature, as something beautiful to look at and a place for recreation. We act like we are not part of nature anymore. It becomes alienated and something we want to control. To save the environment and climate we now increasingly use the latest technology to manipulate and regain control.

Bård investigates these borders between man-made and nature.
